Life Waits for No One (And It's A Good Thing)

Does it terrify you or motivate you to know that life waits for no one?

I used to be debilitated when things didn’t work out:
- Dropping out of college (the first time)
- Moving out of state only to return home
- Leaving a career path that looked good on paper but I was miserable at
- Starting a completely new life after a relationship ends (this one was the worst for me!)

But every single one of those taught me that life goes on - and that’s a good thing. The more we experience, the more opportunities we have for growth. It’s the standing still and staying in comfort zones that’s the real killer of life.

So if you’re reading this and it terrifies you to know that life doesn’t wait for anyone, and you feel like everyone and everything is just whizzing by you.. just know that everyone is terrified at some point - but continue on anyway. If you’re not happy with where you are right now, then you have to be relentless in your pursuit to move forward.

Because there will come a time where you‘ll embrace and actually welcome change. When you will take risks and know that whatever happens, you will be okay. When you realize you carry a strength you can’t even fathom right now, but was already within you all along. When you let you heart fall and fly again, higher than ever before. And it’s going to be beautiful, you’ll see. ALL you have to do is dig (as deep as you need) to remember the bad ass that you are, open yourself to the love you deserve, and be brave enough to do the things that no one else can do for you.

Life, time, and death waits for no one. What more motivation do you need?

Life waits for no one. You realise this as you watch past lovers fold into new relationships and start different journey without you. You realise this as you watch people graduate and start jobs and get married and move countries. You realise this as weeks turn into months and months into years and hello turns into I haven’t seen you in a while, and friendship turns into love and love into something more - or maybe nothing. You realise this as the hurt that filled your heart has finally spilled out, making room for nothing but love. You realise this as you look at yourself in the mirror and notice the lines that touched your eyes have now moved to the edges of your mouth because all you do is smile these days. You realise this as the pain starts to fade and a gentle happiness hugs you, making room for adventures you never thought you’d have, making room for people you never thought you’d be able to fit inside your heart, making room for a feeling you never thought you’d experience again. Life waits for no one. Your realise this as you wake up each morening with a determined smile, counting your blessings in the form of people and adventures and all your achievements. Life waits for no one. And you realise this when those who broke you finally return to the place where they had left you, only to find that you were never standing there waiting for them.
